Outreach to Schools
At Pasco’s Italian, we love sharing our passion for great food with the next generation. That’s why we work closely with local schools to offer engaging and educational experiences for students of all ages. Our most popular package is the KS2 DT Curriculum Workshop, but we can create a package for any age group or ability. All sessions are led and delivered by a qualified teacher (with QTS) and take place at our Hull city centre restaurant.
KS2 DT CURRICULUM WORKSHOPS
We offer an immersive, interactive experience for just £18.95 per child for our standard package, but we can also tailor and create bespoke packages to meet the needs of your students. This standard price includes a carousel of activities, unlimited squash for the children whilst there, and the cost of all the ingredients and materials.
During the day your students will complete the following activities:
Creating Pizzas with the Head Chef
Children will create their own pizzas in a safe environment using a range of ingredients and equipment.
National Curriculum criteria met:
-elect from and use a wider range of tools and equipment to perform practical tasks [for example, cutting, shaping, joining and finishing], accurately
-select from and use a wider range of materials and components, including construction materials, textiles and ingredients, according to their functional properties and aesthetic qualities
Learning about Nutrition in a Practical Setting
Children will complete some activities focused on nutrition in a fun, practical way.
National Curriculum criteria met:
-understand and apply the principles of a healthy and varied diet
-understand seasonality, and know where and how a variety of ingredients are grown, reared, caught and processed
Learning about Running a Food Business
Children will be given a tour of the business and an insight into how existing products are created, as well as exploring how a business is run.
National Curriculum criteria met:
-investigate and analyse a range of existing products
-understand how key events and individuals in design and technology have helped shape the world
Parental engagement can also be incorporated into your package: we are happy to cater for parents and carers including them in the activities throughout the day or alternatively, you can invite them to join their children at the end of the day whilst they enjoy eating the pizzas that they have made.
